New Rucksacks for 2016

With Spring just starting it’s time to dust off your Spring/Summer gear, and treat yourself to some new pieces! Here’s a list of our favourite packs from this season’s newest collections that we think you should add to your kit…


 OspreyStratos 26

Stratos 26

The Stratos is a brilliant lightweight rucksack from Osprey. It features AirSpeed suspension with a mesh back system which is also curved, giving you amazing ventilation. The top lid access means you can quickly get into your pack and grab your gear.

With the Stratos you also have a single strap for an ice axe, stow on the go trekking pole attachment and it features Osprey’s ErgoPull adjustment, giving you easier adjustment. Due to the 26 litres this pack carries it makes for a perfect day pack.

 

Jack WolfskinRoyal Oak

Royal Oak

Want to stand out from the crowd when on the hills? Do you want a pack that you can use from day to day? Then the Royal Oak from Jack Wolfskin is one to look at. The Royal Oak uses a snuggle up suspension system which features wide straps for great load distribution.

This Jack Wolfskin pack has 3 pockets, 1 zipper lid pocket and two classic side pockets. The Royal Oak’s upper is made from recycled materials which has a soft touch. This pack has a total capacity of 18 litres making it ideal for a short day hike and day to day use.

Black DiamondAxis 33

Axis 33

A favourite brand with climbers is the Black Diamond, and this season we would definitely recommend the Axis 33. You have a total capacity of 33 litres in this pack making it great for a day hike/climb and maybe a weekend trip as well. The Axis features ergoACTIV suspension which offers excellent comfort, mobility, support and stability.

This Black Diamond pack is top loading and features pickpockets to hold 2 ice axes, removable crampon straps and a 3 point haul system to allow you to haul this pack behind you.

Gregoryz 40

Z40

Want a pack that you can customise to suit all your needs? Well look no further than the Z 40 from Gregory. The Z pack features a wire X Frame which transfers your load to the lumber pad and hip belt making it more comfortable to wear on longer hikes.

This Gregory pack features a front zipped pocket, front buckle pocket, 2 classic side pockets and dual hip belt pockets. You can attach either walking poles, ice axes and even fishing rods due to the hideaway loop system. The Z pack is 40 litres in size making it perfect for long day hikes and weekend hikes.

If you’re looking for a great women’s pack then you need to take a look at the Aura AG 50 from Osprey. The Aura has been specifically designed for women and uses AntiGravity 3D suspension which is comfortable no matter how heavy the load.

This Osprey pack features top lid access, twin zipped hip belt pockets, sleeping bag base compartment, twin ice axe loops and internal compression straps. The Aura holds up to 50 litres making it ideal for short treks and weekend hikes.

The North FaceTerra 65

How could we have a rucksack list without added the Terra 65 from The North Face. The Terra uses Optifit suspension which offers amazing comfort, secure fit and is adjustable to suit all your needs. The back panel also has vertical channels which provides great ventilation.

This North Face pack comes in different back sizes to give you a better and closer fit and the Terra also features an ice axe or walking pole loop, huge zippered side entry to get into your pack quicker and boasts an impressive 7 plus pockets!

Berghaus - Vulcan

The Vulcan from Berghaus is one of a kind. If you’re after a pack that you can break down and build up to create your perfect pack then this is it. The Vulcan uses a classic Aluminium frame which offers great stability and comfort.

This Berghaus pack features power cynch straps on the hip belt, top tension adjusters, side compression straps, base compartment access, two ice axe holders and six accessory patches on the side pockets. The Vulcan is available in various sizes to give you the choice of the closest and most comfortable pack.

VangoNanga

Nanga

The Nanga from Vango is a great pack to own. The Nanga uses an A3 back system which is built around modern lightweight and durable fabrics and alloys which gives advanced load distribution to stabilise the hip area. This pack also has a 3D ergonomic hip belt to fit to your individual body size and shape.

This pack also features a side grab handle, ice axe and walking pole attachments, detachable rain cover, classic side pockets zip access to the main compartment and a zippered lid pocket. The great thing about this pack that is has been approved by The Scout Association and is Duke of Edinburgh recommended.
